Event Titles & Descriptions

Written by Meghan Miller

Customize how Clara names and describes your meetings so your calendar stays clear, consistent, and easy to scan.

These settings allow you to control how event titles are formatted and how descriptions are generated.

Where to Find These Settings

You can manage these preferences from in Title and Description.

Event Titles

Clara automatically generates event titles for your meetings based on your selected preferences. You can customize how these titles appear to match your workflow.

To create your customized event titles, you can choose from the following options:

  • Name Order

    • Example: You with Alex vs. Alex with You

  • Name Format

    • First name only

    • Full name

  • Company Name

    • Helpful for external or client-facing meetings

  • Group Delimiter

    • Example: commas, “&”, or “and”

  • Include Internal Meeting Members

    • Useful for simplifying titles or keeping them concise

  • Prefix (Add any text before your event)

    • Example: “Intro Call – ”

  • Suffix (Add any text after your event)

    • Example: “ – Check-in”

  • Include AI Generated Title

    • Useful for adding clarity to meetings without manual input

You can also tell Clara the name of the event that you'd like to schedule in natural language. For example, you can say, "Clara, call this meeting Q3 Goals and Planning".

If you’d like different title formats for different types of meetings, you can create Booking Types.

  • Each Booking Type can have its own title format and settings

  • Ideal for workflows like recruiting, sales calls, or internal meetings

Event Descriptions

Clara can automatically generate a meeting description based on the context in your email or forwarded thread.

This may include:

  • Meeting purpose

  • Relevant details from the prior email conversation

  • Key context for participants

Editing Event Descriptions

Because invites are sent from your calendar:

  • You can edit the event description at any time after the invite is created

  • You have full control over the final details shared with participants

Current Limitations

  • Clara cannot add attachments to calendar invites

  • Clara cannot set fully customized descriptions beyond what it generates from context
